Murray Mills | MBA | CISSP

I am an experienced cyber security leader and IT professional with over 22 years in the industry. My career has taken me from hands-on systems engineering through to building and heading up cyber security divisions, giving me the depth and breadth to bridge the gap between business objectives and technology outcomes.

Professional Background

My career began in 2003 as a systems engineer, providing IT support and infrastructure services to over 60 businesses nationally. I spent nearly 9 years at Leighton Contractors (now CPB Contractors), progressing from Senior Systems Engineer to Service Delivery Lead, managing teams and enterprise infrastructure supporting over 15,000 users across 180+ sites.

After a period managing operations for Wipro's Leighton Contractors project, leading 45 staff across onshore and offshore teams, I joined Tecala Group in 2016.

Over the past decade at Tecala, I progressed from Senior Consultant through Manager of Cyber Security to Head of Cyber Security, where I built and led the cyber security division from the ground up. I lead joint operations security teams, drive product innovation, and deliver end-to-end security services spanning the full depth and breadth of Australian industry.

In 2025, I completed my MBA (Technology) with Excellence at AGSM, UNSW Business School, strengthening my ability to align security strategy with business outcomes at the highest level.

My Approach

I work closely with leadership teams to understand business objectives, assess risk appetite, and develop pragmatic security strategies that enable growth while managing risk. My approach is hands-on, collaborative, and results-driven, underpinned by both deep technical expertise and MBA-level business acumen.
